More than a decade after his death, three albums saxophonist Gary WINDO just been reissued with the " Deep Water " , the second of his records released under his own name from 1988. Although it is more affordable than his first solo effort (" Dogface " ), this album shows us an eclectic artist who is only required little stress and seems to take pleasure in looking confuse the listener. Suffice to say that we have a subject not to put all hands, or at least between all ears, the risk of rejection is very real. Indeed, if several pieces are part of the wave Jazz-Rock Funk orientation which had its heyday in the 80s in the image of ' Ghost ' and ' Breakfeast In Bed ' , other titles show less readily accessible. This is the case of a ' Deep Water 'completely improvised in which the saxophonist demonstrated a complete mastery. Unfortunately, the whole remains far too deeply entrenched in the 80s and titles of the caliber of ' Clean Machine ' , ' Do not Bite Too Hard ' and ' Subway Love ' sounds are disabled by New Wave Funky that return not necessarily the best of that time and greatly reduce the value of such compositions. If the musical style of  Gary WINDO artist who lived his music without concessions, suffers no objection, it will probably not Even with this reissue which indeed offers no bonus track and seems to have been no specific work on the sound. The result is a music and production have greatly aged. A reissue that has at least the merit of making available in CD format a hard drive to get.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
