We
knew the choruses and histories
One
had even seen Pete and Arlo in 1973
so
each a jigsaw piece of a long life spanned
via
memories of Union struggle,children's sing-a -longs
and
chirpy ditties that even made our Top 4o
yet
our collective memory was faulty
we
skipped picket lines and suffering
persecution
and censorship/glossed over
a
long hard life for softer truths-peace,songs,harmonies
One
man with a banjo and the tenacity to sing
and
to demand we all sing along with him
For
-where one voice is heard-all will be
time
is a signature tune for our separate eternities
