Stars reunited for Lancaster show

Barbara Dickson and Rab NoakesFriends since they were teenagers, two key performers will be stopping off in Lancaster when they go on the road together. As separate acts, in their younger days Barbara Dickson and Rab Noakes often found themselves performing alongside each other.

Since then they have occasionally performed live together, sung on each other’s records and remained friends. Both have diverse careers and have won awards and praise for their solo work.

From her folk scene roots of the late 1960s through to mainstream chart success with hits including ‘Another Suitcase in Another Hall’, ‘January, February’ and the million-selling number one single, ‘I Know Him So Well’, Barbara Dickson is one of the UK’s best-loved performers.

Rab Noakes emerged as a key player in one of the early waves of singer-songwriters in the 1970s. Since then he has enjoyed an illustrious musical life including being a member of Stealers Wheel, writing songs for hit-makers Lindisfarne, and regular appearances on iconic shows such as John Peel and The Old Grey Whistle Test.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
