Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"
THERE ARE WORDS
Of consolation and support
To annul the loss.To assuage all grief.
There are spells,songs,poems,invocations
to extend networks and allow emotions release
within a trusted framework of trusted partners.
Whether it be priest or priestess, psychologist /psychiatrist
relation, friend or acquaintance-words can be found
to bandage emotional wounds, and redress emptiness..
Love, strength and support are tangible assets-
if survivors lack any ,more can be found
professionally from grief counselors-
or,sometimes,from perfect strangers..
But grief is a stubborn wound-it does not heal overnight
Years/decades may pass until adjustment arrives..
Here is where rationality fails against emotional needs, wants, desires
Loss is defined-not just by absence-but by the continuance
of personal memories in survivor's lives..
