ROB AYLING - King of the Wild Frontier

The younger members of my family will probably find it hard to believe, but I wasn't always a middle aged hippy with wild staring eyes. Back in the early 1960s I was a small boy who played cowboys and indians, and my greatest hero was a dude called Davy Crockett. Basically, I idolised the TV version and never knew that it was based on a verifiable historical character until much later in my life. Like others of my peer group I would sing the following song until it drove my parents to distraction:

Now, this picture arrived in my in-box the other day. It had the following caption: "Today, sports fans we catch up with Rob. He is working hard looking out for new deals and artists...."

However, it reminded me so much of my childhood idol that I have spent the last week biting back facetious comments. Luckily Rob was raised in Dewsbury so I think it unlikely that he killed a bear at the age of three (unless it was a teddy bear, that is)...

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
