THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" WITHOUT YOU THIS IS SILENCE

You are the vital ingredient(witness!

By being present,you add humanity/intimacy

You challenge and confront

There is a story that was told,then forgotten

First SOUND&SENSE,then GRAMMAR&PUNCTUATION

First air,then cage,then Rules of Cages

Eventually,no air -just prisons,cells,jails,cages

Eventually,we become either warder or the convicted

Are you wearing a uniform?a wire?Do you question

why this only makes sense to you?Walls don't need words!

They get taggers,graffiti artists,murals.All painted gray.

Even this day paints itself gray

Unless and until you seize the air,open your cage

break all rules,put on your wings and claim your song !
