Multi-talented musician, Jon Anderson, the voice of YES, will spend an intimate solo evening at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, April 13

Undoubtedly, Jon Anderson – The Voice of YES – is one of the most recognizable and influential voices in progressive rock. As the lead vocalist and creative force behind the phenomenally successful band YES, Anderson was central to their popularity. On Sunday, April 13, at 8 p.m. at The Ridgefield Playhouse, this accomplished musician will go solo in an evening that will feature the timeless YES tunes plus some from his own eclectic songbook. Anderson and YES gave us the hits "Roundabout," "All Good People," "Long Distance Runaround," "Find My Way Home," "Wondrous Stories," "Owner of a Lonely Heart" and many more. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass ($25 addt'l per person), which includes a pre-show cocktail party 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors-d'oeuvre and priority parking, is available for this show by calling the box office (203-438-5795). This event is underwritten by Acousticmusic.org and Delamar Greenwich Harbor Hotel and is part of the Xfinity Rock Series with media sponsor 95.9fm The Fox.

To sum up the impact of seeing Jon Anderson in concert, a fan raves: "I saw my favorite singer of all time last night and he did not disappoint me. Also the fans were awesome to show their love of this man.... His voice sounded great just like we all remember.... His voice is one of the most clearest purest sounding voices I have ever heard performed live. I could sit and listen to this man sing all night.... My favorite moment: The many standing ovations thru the night from the fans."

He describes his voice like this: "I'm an alto tenor and I can sing certain high notes, but I could never sing falsetto, so I go and hit them high." (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)Complementing his superior vocal talents are Jon Anderson's expertise as a songwriter and harpist.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
