VIDEO: Jon Anderson of Yes to perform in Woodstock with students from Paul Green Rock Academy

A musician whose lead vocals for the rock band Yes remain timeless and iconic will visit the Hudson Valley next week for two performances with young musicians.

Jon Anderson, whose instantly identifiable singing has fueled the sale of millions of records, will perform April 8 and 9 at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock backed by students from the Paul Green Rock Academy in Saugerties.

Green, a Woodstock resident, founded the School of Rock, which like the Rock Academy teaches rock music to children and teenagers. The evening will feature classic Yes songs that, decades after they were first released, continue to form the bedrock of progressive rock music.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
