THIS YEAR'S CROPREDY

Charlie and Craig Reid, better known as The Proclaimers, will make their Cropredy debut next year. NNL-141216-090556001The Proclaimers will make their Cropredy debut next year at Fairport’s Cropredy Convention.
The popular music event takes place between August 13 and 15 and it was confirmed the Scottish band who will take to the stage on Friday, August 14.

Fairport Convention will open the festival with a small semi-acoustic set on Thursday, followed by Trad Arr, a brand new ensemble with a vigorous approach to traditional music. Led by PJ Wright, Trad Arr will put the rock into folk-rock.

Twenty six years since he left Marillion, Fish has enjoyed a successful and innovative solo career. His distinctive voice and powerful delivery promise a great live show at Cropredy when he plays on Friday.
On Saturday, Toyah Willcox will be another welcome newcomer to Cropredy when she performs with her band. Rory Gallagher’s former backing musicians Band of Friends will celebrate Rory’s life and music and will be joined on stage by ex-Fairport member Dan ArBras.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
