Last year was playing Auburn the opening act for himself Jefferson Starship when they were out on their 40 The same year gave Auburn the album Nashville, and now it's time to follow it up with Mixed Feelings. And no, I have no mixed feelings of the plate.

In fact, I swallow it whole, and sinker. Primarily, it is Liz Lentens expressive and cat-like, caressing voice that captures me. Her ability to convey his poetry is extremely appealing. Since the songs, the lyrics, the atmosphere and the disc's ability to grow with the listening area. Auburn is nothing new band really. In fact, they re-formed in 2011 after a very long absence, and the musicians of the group is no novice either. They have been playing with superstars like Roy Orbison, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton and many others. Mixed Feelings are not a lot of the artists music making. Auburn stays below americana umbrella where all manner rotmusik fit, and sometimes turn it pleasant, other times it is quiet and intimate, but someone ösig rock'n'roll or traditional country it will never be on this record. However, there is this clear hints of blues, soul, alternative country and folk, but the band's own, relaxed and laid-back manner. Should I call for listening to a few songs, I suggest that you start with "love lost it's way", the title track, "New Years Day" and "Friends". Have not you been convinced by these, only to give up, I would think. But do not do it lightly for this is, as I said, a disc of material grows.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
