@THE MUSEUM OF NATURAL&ARTIFICIAL
EPHEMERATA
Artists gathered in a vegetarian put
luck/with tofu and green beans
and fruit and great relief to be with each
other on this day.
For years ,David and Susan had convened a
celebration
and welcomed both family and friends -and
all who had neither
in their own home,as it danced from high
rents in South Austin to Bastrop.
But David died, and both being artists,Susan
asked her Museum family
to set up a welcome table for all.We had met
before-at more gatherings,
but this was both special and unique. While
the tables filled with fine foods,
we listened and spoke with those who we see
rarely,if @all.We caught up
with deaths and health problems, age and
post-election depression.
One or two were determined to take action to
leave this world
a better place for their children and
grandchildren.They extended their compassion
to those suffering in pain on the other side
of politics."Unless we reach out and love each other,
there will be no world for pot lucks ,or
Thanksgiving Dinners.."
