COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS: Rob Ayling

The Gonzo Daily Countdown to Christmas begins today. Christmas music can lift your heart, move you to tears and be a genuinely spiritual experience. On the other hand it can make you want to throw up!

We have asked a whole slew of Gonzofolk for their top five favourite Christmas songs (secular, sacred or both), and will be printing a list, and showing a video every day until after Christmas.

Today we hear from Rob Ayling, the Gonzo Grande Fromage:

Happy Christmas (war is over) by John and Yoko.
Fairy tale of New York by The Pogues
Walking in the Air by Aled Jones
In Dule Jubilo by Mike Oldfield
December will be Magic Again by Kate Bush
I believed in Father Christmas by Greg Lake

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
