JOHN PAYNE IS RAIDING THE ROCK VAULT

Raiding the Rock Vault is a new that travels through the genre’s history chronologically through the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, through to the year 1990.Unlike most Broadway shows that feature stereotypical sounding show tunes in their storylines, Raiding the Rock Vault boasts classic cuts from Van Halen, Def Leppard, Deep Purple, KISS and many other Noisecreep-worthy groups.
“Having been in bands for so many years, I figured taking this show on and preparing for it wouldn’t be tough. But it turned out to be a mammoth undertaking,” Asia bassist John Payne tells Noisecreep.
The British musician not only co-wrote Raiding the Rock Vault with Grammy Award-winning record producer David Kershenbaum, he’s also a member of the live band in the show that also features Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns), Jay Schellen (Hurricane), Howard Leese (Heart), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow), Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt), Andrew Freeman (Offspring), Robin McAuley (McAuley Schenker Group) and Michael T. Ross (Lita Ford).

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
