Steve Howe of Yes and Asia
Pushing for years: Steve Howe
Yes guitarist Steve Howe is delighted the band will play three albums a night on their upcoming US tour – because he’s wanted to do it for years.
Last week they announced a series of dates starting on March 1, in which they’ll perform The Yes Album, Close To The Edge and Going For The One in full.
It’s the first time since 1973 the band will have delivered an entire record during a gig – but if it had been up to Howe it would have happened much sooner.
He tells Noisecreep: “It’s been floating around for a bit, actually. I was pushing for it years ago so it’s been kicking around.
“As a band we thought it would be nice to put all of these albums, which are very near and dear to us, in their full and proper context. The flow will all be intact, which was important back when albums mattered; back when people actually sat and listened all the way through a long-form piece of work.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
