Rob Ayling writes:
"Thom the World poet, is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearences with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth, Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
ON THE ROAD (AGAIN)
Movement.motion.if not OUT! then ON!
where
village opens to road/traffic to pre-freeway
and
a door is a car is a story to be shared with fellow road warriors
Slow
days,with the dust of"settle down"death shaken,not stirred
by ingestion of
accelerants/"and the road goes ever on"(it still does!
with
rest stops for
love,marriage,children,breakdowns,documentaries,addictions
"And
when you wake-it shall be as a dream is-terrible and satisfying!"
Death
is only a shadow when you are young-it becomes a contender with age
We
are different with time and generational change/from black and white to
widescreen color
from
little toy TVs to huge screen 3D .Never larger than life to the living-only
posthumously!
Dead
poets stink the stage with influences/dead ideas limit the still growing future
youth
Roads
are now patrolled, tolled, taxed, monitored for speed and other drugs
The
skies have undercover police. We are less ON THE ROAD than under it-or
above
flying
with love-and speed!More than any movie could ever dream..
