THE GONZO TRACK OF THE DAY: Wilko Johnson 25.8.2013 Cusworth Music Festival
Why is the legendary Wilko Johnson the Gonzo Track of the Day (when - as far as I am aware - there is no link to a Gonzo act that I can exploit)? It's simple. He was diagnosed with cancer late last year and told that he had nine or ten months left to live, and that the cancer would "kick in" after about six months, and he would enter the terminal spiral. He played what he thought was his last show back in March.
This gig was filmed last week, and the old bugger is still going strong! This is an object lesson in one of life's truisms; that things do not always work out the way that we feared.
My brother is a clergyman, and my father was a lay-reader. I am afraid that I do have a tendency to preach sermons sometimes. But at least my chosen text was from Dr Feelgood.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?
Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
