RICK Wakeman is known a multi-million selling keyboard player who has performed on some of the most iconic recordings in music history.
He is also recognised as a raconteur whose tales of decades in the industry and collaborations with stars including David Bowie, Cat Stevens and Elton John form the backbone of a critically acclaimed one-man show.
The show was first performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2013 and it quickly became a must-see for festival-goers.
The Herald described the show as great fun while Fest Magazine said: “A genuinely fascinating character, and unarguably talented performer, Wakeman’s show is a triumph.”
Stories for the show are drawn from Rick’s long career, he is a classically trained pianist who was a sought-after session musician in the 60s.
He played on more than 2,000 records by a wide variety of artists including Cilla Black, John Williams, Marc Bolan and Black Sabbath before going on to be a member of The Strawbs and progressive rock band YES.
