State Agencies with Agendas-so what?
Art has its own demands-one of which is
survival.Day jobs one price tag,starvation another.
Some Governments have Arts Agencies with
Budgets big enough to keep Heritage Performers alive
Most sinecures(library jobs,nominal
government positions)are framed so recipients survive
Witness Dylan Thomas's begging letters and
his unfulfillment of writing contracts signed
Support for local artists is a basic
community right-but if every one is an artist-who will you choose to support in
your life?
