Zappa Does Zappa

One of the more interesting shows to see this week is "Zappa Plays Zappa" Wednesday night (September 30th) at The Waiting Room. The show stars Dweezil Zappa, son of Frank, and it will feature Dweezil and his band playing his father's music.

On this tour, the group is playing the entirety of Frank Zappa's “One Size Fits All” album from 1975 (just one of Frank Zappa's 62 albums).

BTW, here's an interesting tidbit: Dweezil released his first album at the age of 12 and it was produced by Eddie Van Halen.

Get in a Zappa sort of mood by watching a bit of Zappa Plays Zappa by clicking here. And remember, as Frank once said, "Your mind is like a parachute. It only works if it's open." Or something like that

What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
