Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Populism means more than mottoes and memes

Disaffected folk once resorted to apathy and ennui,exhausted by hypocrisy &corruption

Now they seek a fierce engagement via outsiders

those not "stained"by Washington insider strategies

They buy the t-shirts,rants,TV debates .Get"riled up"enough to cast their stones

as much AGAINST official candidates as for their anointed saviors.

TWITTER is aflame with Trump posts.They follow this Pied Piper everywhere.

Facebook is full of underdog Deputy Saunders,polling and trolling for small dollars

Media is massaging both messages and Candidates images,slinging both mud and roses.

Clips of past speeches resurrect to slander old warriors.The right wing race is ON!

Who dare represent evangelicals best?Who dare sing their psalms and songs?

Abortion?The Border?This is no longer issue -based politics-this is murder.

One understands why so many stand up and then withdraw discreetly.

The people become a mob very easily.They take over Federal lands,picket abortion clinics.

They shoot doctors.And Presidents.Lynch mobs and KKK still exist (with strength and support)

We have seen all this before.We have NOT seen anything like THIS before..
