Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"
Message Body
AS WE AGE,OUR SHORT-TERM MEMORY FLICKERS
Our long -term memory puts on spectacles and remembers
events that the young will never know(and do not want to)
Time is a Tweet for them-an Instagram.
Time is grandfathered clauses for those who are rich in years
Yet our cliff of endings always looms too near
It is healthy to forget-especially pain and loss.
It is healing to remember-reasons to continue.
Each of us face these Daemons-Chronos,Janus,Thanatos
in the mirror lines and thinning hairline mornings
Reciting litanies of Obituaries ,puzzling why they left
There is an end to memory, and life, and time
We coward horses pawing at the edge of cliffs
remind ourselves how slow we are.How fast life leaves.
