of delight

His
genius was to syncopate that rhythm appealing
to
the bodies who would listen,and move with him
and
thus be moved by him.Now his spirit is departing
leaving
empty drums with auric echoes calling

Brubeck brought jazz back to mass audiences
TAKE
5 an actual pop hit-and in the 60s when Rock was King
he
gave credence and credibility to jazz piano noodlings
Each
beat a path of rhythm and with singular purpose
Each
engaged contemporary mass audiences

which
is(of course)wherever and whenever
you
incline to listen.
