Rob Ayling writes:
"Thom the World poet, is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearences with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth, Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
THERE IT IS, UNDER FLOWERS AND A STONE
...photographing faeries. Miniature universe. Here - we are
huge
as
we imagine dinosaurs from 50s movies tromping overhead
hiding
beneath giant fronds, leaves, in forests of another green world
Soundtrack
dramatic, jarring, sharp with discords and screams
Once, we
dreamed CARPETWORLD, and we were among the weave
tall
and towering. Size is perspective. Vision is all. ANTWORLD, WORMWORLD
appropriated
by Pixar and Disney. In this Uni-verse-we are tiny.
Worlds
spins unaware, uncaring. This one world ditto.
Every garden holds
secrets. Underneath - other worlds compete for survival.
As
above, so below. Oxygen, food, housing, transport, fame - all limited
quantities.
Mormons
stockpile Armageddon supplies. Apocalypse addicts make endings.
Every
moment both begins and extends. We know it goes on. While here -
we
are gardens. Seed, plant, water, grow - seasons sing to us. As we rise..
