Gordon Giltrap and Oliver Wakeman release their debut collaboration, Ravens & Lullabies, in March.
The guitarist and keyboardist describe their music as “hard-hitting memorable rock pieces coupled with thought-provoking lyrics, alongside duets featuring fine instrumental interplay.”
The 13-track album came about after Giltrap asked Wakemen to play keyboards in a studio project – but within 24 hours they’d decided to engage in a full collaboration.
It marks Giltrap’s return to his rock roots after a 30-year absence, and Wakeman’s first recordings since he left Yes and the Strawbs.
“I firmly believe that Ravens & Lullabies deserves major success,” Giltrap says. “When I listen to it I get a little tingle of excitement. I hope maybe this will be the one that moves the old career forward. Not only that: I hope it gives Oliver the break he so richly deserves.”
