LINK: Judy Dyble with Robert Fripp, Ian McDonald and Pat Mastelotto, “Harpsong” (2013)

judy, dyble,

Judy Dyble, a member of Fairport Convention for its first album, collaborates with King Crimson’s Robert Fripp, Ian McDonald and Pat Mastelotto on this exclusive stream, courtesy of Gonzo Multimedia.

Dyble first worked with Fripp and McDonald just before the founding of Crimson, only to reunite with them as part of the 2008 project Talking with Strangers. This album — with the 19-minute epic “Harpsong” as its stirring finale — is now set to be released for the first time ever in the U.S.

Said to be an autobiographical journey through Dyble’s career in music, “Harpsong” also includes appearances by No-Man’s Tim Bowness on vocals and additional guitars, Fairport Convention co-founder Simon Nicol on acoustic, All About Eve’s Julianne Regan on background vocals, Laurie A’Court on sax and multi-instrumentalist Alistair Murphy, among others.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
