The ELO, Move and Black Sabbath drummer is the latest to join the Sunday Mercury’s ‘Brummies Are’  campaign, which celebrates all things Brummie.
“Birmingham is a great city,” says Bev. “Just look at all the great music this city has produced over the years – and continues to do so.
“I’m proud to be a Brummie and to have taken the city’s name around the world on tour.”
The Mercury and our sister newspaper, the Birmingham Mail, joined forces to launch the campaign after a national survey suggested that the city was strictly second-rate, coming bottom in league tables for style, music, culture, architecture and accent.
We hit back, inviting readers to show the world that Brummies are brilliant – by sending us photos bearing the message: ‘Brummies Are ...’

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
