RAY MANZAREK: FOCUS, POETRY AND SOUL

Ray Manzarek had the patience of a saint. He recognised the need for a thoughtful, carnal force in rock and roll that was not there before he opened The Doors.
The music remains inspiring and timeless. Every fourteen-year-old must have Beatles, Stones, Doors, Pistols,Hendrix, Dylan..these are a consummate collection of artists who wrote the book.P
Personally, I found Ray to be him a true renaissance gentleman.Part zen and part hedonist, kind and open, literary and spontaneous. He will live forever in the pantheon of popular music.
The Doors of Perception, indeed. God bless him and his family.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
