As regular readers of my inky fingered scribblings will attest, every sunday I send out the blog notifications to various forums (yes, I know they should be fora, but no-one knows what I mean when I say that), Facebook groups and mailing lists in rhyme.
Yesterday's notifications included the immortal couplets:
And last (but not least) I must mention,
a strange review of Auburn's Liz Lenten,
with some notes from me, saying I've read better,
cos on the whole he doesn't get her:

Much to my surprise and gratification I then received an email from the lovely Ms Lenten including the following lines:
Thanks, as always, for your kind words,
You make those ‘knockers’ sound absurd,
And so I send you hugs and kisses,
….I hope that don’t upset your missus!! :)
So, there is only one thing that I can do:
Dear Liz, thank you for your kind lines,
(my wife, by the way, didn't mind)
but she and I both wonder why,
you are the only one with a verse reply
'Cos looking round the Gonzo stable,
there are artists here who are more than able
of emailing me some lines of text
I wonder who will send rhymes next....
