THE MDB BAND ROCKS THE VIPER ROOM (From Michael's Website)

The MDB Band at The Viper Room, February 2nd
Damon Fox, Mark Tremaglia, Michael Des Barres, David Goodstein and Paul ILL
The Michael Des Barres Band were back to rock the crowd at The Viper Room this Saturday, February 2nd. In addition to eight songs from Carnaby Street, the band did “Detective Man” from the first Detective album and a handful of cover versions.
Michael’s brilliant band currently includes David Goodstein (drums), Paul ILL (bass), Mark Tremaglia (guitar) and Damon Fox (keyboard).
Matt Sorum at The Viper Room, February 2nd
Matt Sorum on the drums
Special guest Matt Sorum (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver) took over the drums on the final medley of “I Don’t Need No Doctor / Get It On (Bang a Gong) / Long Tall Sally”.
The concert gets a great review from Morty Coyle:
Y’see, Michael and his best band yet put on a classic rock show. That is to say that their power is in bringing an audience a rock show like one should be brought; loud, exciting, theatrical, sexy, dangerous and tight while still displaying some delicious chaos. The current band is musically as lean of sluggish flab as Michael’s lithe frame and equally as powerful.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
