MICK FARREN ON BASIC FM

The Mick Farren Hour

SATURDAYS @ 1500 hours
Musician, journalist, sci-fi writer, counter-culture activist and White Panther, Mick Farren wrote lyrics for Hawkwind, Motorhead and the Pink Fairies. He collaborated with Wayne Kramer of the MC5, Wilko Johnson and Chrissie Hynde. His band, The Deviants, were considered punk-precursors by at least ten years.
Having written over 20 novels (Farren is one of the UK’s most respected science fiction authors), and definitive non-fiction volumes on Elvis, the CIA, amphetamine sulphate and the black leather jacket, expect opinions on government, technology, sex, drugs, pop culture, art and literature.
And lots of very loud, very rock n roll, music.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
