Steve Hackett at Birmingham Symphony Hall

Steve Hackett

Steve Hackett
The Kinks once sang ‘give the people want they want’ – and it’s clearly an adage that Steve Hackett believes in.
The former Genesis guitarist (he left in 1977, two years after Peter Gabriel’s shock departure) has clearly hit on a winning formula with his series of Genesis Revisited albums and tours  – this being the third.
Symphony Hall was a sell-out, and when Hackett announced it was a night of ‘strictly Genesis’ it was met with a huge roar.
From opener Watcher of The Skies to the final encore Los Endos, this was a joy for many in the hall, who never got to hear these songs live first time round.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
