Rick Wakeman Journeys To The Centre Of The Earth

Rick Wakeman

Rick Wakeman will mark 40th anniversary of his concept album, Journey To The Centre Of The Earth based on the novel by Jules Verne, with a world tour launched at Birmingham’s NIA on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.
The former Yes star and The Jules Verne Symphony Orchestra are promising a "state of the art, dramatic, live arena presentation of this epochal, classical-rock crossover work touring the world".
A spokesman said: "Designed by Roger Dean, the creative mastermind behind the distinctive artwork of million-selling albums by Yes and Uriah Heep, Journey To The Centre Of The Earth is a must-see show, a thrilling spectacle for all the family, to rival blockbuster presentations like Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds and Roger Waters' touring production of Pink Floyd's The Wall.
"This new live show is set to thrill the millions who grew up with the original album and the many film and TV adaptations of the novel, and introducing Wakeman, Dean and Verne to a new generation of concert-goers."

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
