Jefferson Starship's Slick Aguilar Undergoes Liver Transplant

Longtime Jefferson Starship guitarist Slick Aguilar reportedly is recovering after undergoing a liver transplant earlier this week.  According to a message posted Wednesday on the veteran rocker’s official Facebook page, the operation “was a tough surgery, but, so far so good.”
Aguilar revealed last fall that he needed a new liver after discovering that he was suffering from hepatitis C.  A benefit concert to help raise money for the guitarist’s medical expenses was held in San Francisco this past February that featured performances by David Crosby, former Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship singerMarty Balin and current Jefferson Starship members, Country Joe McDonald, and Big Brother and the Holding Company.
For fans who still want to help Aguilar pay his medical bills, donations are being accepted at his official website.
