EXCITING NEWS FROM MIMI PAGE

Photo: Today our cat passed away. RIP Osso :-( He loved listening to me play piano growing up.The late great Douglas Adams once said that the invention of time travel changed the human language. Although I haven't invented time travel (despite the fact that last night in Southampton was 1968 all round) I know precisely what he meant. For example, the day before yesterday, Mimi Page sent me this talking about tomorrow (which was yesterday) and now it is the day after, which isn't tomorrow, but today. Confused? Hell yes. But the track in question is eminently groovy...

Hey guys! Some exciting music news:

My 2nd collaboration with Bassnectar and DC Breaks called "Breathless" drops tomorrow 10/16 on Bassnectar's new album "Freestyle". Bassnectar played the ACL festival this weekend and was interviewed by the magazine The Examiner, who gave me a little shout out. Pretty cool! Great article on Lorin and electronic music too.

"The epic ACL set presaged the talented musician’s soon to be released “Freestyle” EP, set to drop on Oct. 16. The new record comes on the heels of his latest successful full-length album “Vava Voom,” which peaked at No. 1 on the iTunes Electronic Albums Chart (No. 9 overall) and featured some incredibly diverse hip hop collaborations with Lupe Fiasco and Amp Live, as well as ethereal vocals from Mimi Page and a tribute to California Skate-punk legends Pennywise."

Here is "Breathless" from his upcoming album. He leaked it on youtube 3 days ago and it already has 20,000 views. Butterfly (my first collaboration with Bassnectar released in April) has accumulated over a million views on youtube and will be soundtracking an upcoming feature film.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
