Prog-rockers rejoice! Yes has just announced a one-day festival called the Yestival.
The event, taking place Saturday, August 3, at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ, will feature the band performing 1971′s The Yes Album and 1972′s Close To The Edge, each in its entirety.
Founding bassist Chris Squire said in a statement, “This is a concept we’ve been trying to put into motion for some time, and only now we’ve been able to turn it into reality. We’re looking forward to starting Yestival out in the Philadelphia area, which has been a Yes stronghold since the ’70s.”
Besides Squire, Yes currently includes drummer Alan White, guitarist Steve Howe, keyboardist Geoff Downes and singer Jon Davison. Roger Dean – the artist who created Yes’ logo and many of their most iconic album covers – will also be on hand.
But the Yestival isn’t all about Yes. It will also appeal to fans of Genesis and Emerson Lake & Palmer.
