"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth, Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
I THINK OF LIFE AS CHICAGO AIRPORT
some of us landing. Some taking off.a few taxi through
some
are parked for maintenance. One or two will crash through or crash
Most
will carry on.Their emotional luggage what we pay for.Weight of wings.Jet
thrust
Liftoff
only after great expenditure of effort and energies. We all pollute.
Just
to get in the air is enough. You cannot live in an airport(though refugees and
Edward Snowden have tried!
We
are all on different levels.Inspected, pocked, prodded, with dogs sniffing
us.
Chicago
Airport is perhaps the busiest place to consider the efficacy of
travel
Moving
through space and time as on a moving stairwell. We lose
everything(eventually
We
mix with strangers in transit. We are always traveling.Maybe an airport is a
metaphor-an analogy
Life
may seem busier .After your flight departs, every body forgets.
New
passengers wing in,and out again.Random lives.Death.
