MICHAEL DES BARRES DELIVERS THE ALBUM MASTERS TO GONZO MD ROB AYLING

This picture encapsulates how much has changed in the music business since I was last properly involved 20 odd (some of them very odd) years ago.

Once upon a time, when I (and the world in general) was much younger, when a ROCK STAR delivered his MASTERS to the RECORD COMPANY BOSS it would have involved a couple of burly roadies teetering under the weight of a pile of hefty-looking reel-to-reel tapes in boxes. Now its two dudes in a parking lot with a CD.

Meet the new Grande Fromage same as the old Grande Fromage.

I am getting old. But I am still massively looking foreward to Carnaby Street by The Michael Des Barres Band which, I believe, will be out in June.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
