Rob Ayling writes: "Thom the World poet, is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearences with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth, Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!!
Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!"
sharing solitude
early morning, when the night is clear for stars
all planes and cars and trucks are parked
space opens up inside us.In silence and the spinning stars
we find night skies inside us.Instead of looking UP
we look WITHIN-constellations appear coursing bloodstreams
This does not last long-night is a song (it ends in morning
when Old Sol(the Sun King)returns to claim his burnished copper sky
Yet for a little while,we regain space-with no need for suits or rocketry
We fly.Lift OUT and UP and AROUND until all that is left
is an emptiness -of all that has happened before-and will never again
This is why we dream-it is to travel freely-to reach places and people
day makes into heat and hassle.Cool breeze -leaf returns to World Tree
We are human/family.Dream community.Sharing solitudes.
