A suave Rick Wakeman at the Rock and Roll event

THE DAMNED, Lemmy from Motörhead, Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx, ZZ Top, Status Quo and lots of booze – the Classic Rock Roll of Honour at the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm in London had all the ingredients for a hedonistic evening.
But the shindig was a surprisingly elegant affair with the old rockers and rock chicks donning smart suits and cocktail
frocks. They dined on steak and enjoyed fine wine and petits fours before being entertained by US legends Lynyrd Skynyrd. A smart Rick Wakeman, pictured (apart from his trainers) laughed: “It’s hilarious – we’re all suited and booted. “A few years ago this place would have been on fire by now!”
