"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth, Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
Hiroo Onoda, Japanese soldier who took three decades to surrender, dies
"IT IS WITH MUCH EMBARRASSMENT,BUT I HAVE RETURNED!"
Conspiracy
theories abound in 2014-that the war on terror has ended
That
the Government has our best interests @heart.That their monitoring
is
always in our best interests. We point to HIROO ONODA(our solo lone
hero-
who
fought for his imagined country for nearly 30 years after formal hostilities
ceased
From
1945 to 1974,he killed nearly 30 people.Until he was persuaded by his commanding
officer
to
surrender. His was "as strong will to live".So strong,he gave up his native Japan
to farm in Brazil,
then
returned to set up Nature Camps for children in 1984.So strong that he lived
till now,when@91,his war ended
Please
persuade us that all wars have ended/that we can safely surrender our resistance
to autocracies
that
his example is not applicable to the war on civilians still raging worldwide in
January 2014...
