Not sure fans will enjoy this DVD produced by Gonzo Multimedia. This is a documentary on VANGELIS where the master synth is interviewed, surrounded by heavy machinery component viewing movies.

He mentioned the importance that brought his music in the film, but also advertising theater as can the Russian clown Slava comment POPUNINE. This specialist uses mime in his show "The Little Girl Mother" or the generic "Blade Runner."

Thus participates in DVD Sean Connery narrator of the documentary "Ithaka" for John ANDERSON Albums with JOHN & VANGELIS excerpt from a concert.

filmmakers talk about their collaboration with the Greek composer as Oliver STONE for "Alexander" but also Ridley Scott for "Blade Runner" and "1492 - The Conquest Of Paradise."
Frankly it "And The Journey To Ithaka "does not add much, showing a megalomaniac VANGELIS covered with honors, playing for pompous and excessive whose" Mythodea operas "with participation from NASA. It is learned that the musician is also a painter with an exhibition in Valencia devoted to his paintings.

There is no question of Forminx and APHRODITE'S CHILDS, nothing on the works of the seventies that seem the most interesting. It is hardly mentioned it is working with Dominique ROSSIF.

better viewing in "Blade Runner" loop with superb soundtrack that goes.

The only interesting point is the case of the film "Chariot Of Fire" . In the documentary, the extract can be seen (the beginning of the film) we hear "L'Enfant" from the "Opera Sauvage". In fact the director, Hugh Hudson wanted to use this piece. But VANGELIS, while finalizing the installation, composed another theme he thought best. Hugh Hudson was not convinced by this title. But faced with the insistence of the composer, he agrees with the success that we know. And in the documentary we see the same sequence with the real soundtrack that allows the master synth to win the Oscar in 1981 for best film music.

Last little detail, nothing important, the DVD is not original subtitles. You will not get angry for so little!

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
