Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth, Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! MY REPUBLICAN IS A DENTIST
WE DO NOT TALK POLITICS!
We
used to talk skiing(he loved to ski-
until
his son broke his leg wakeboarding
and
his daughter started having seizures
She
was in Scotland recently,had a seizure
Her
roommate contacted dentist and she was taken to Casualty
Dentist
wanted her to have an MRI
but
the doctor said NO!.Long phone calls could not persuade him
So
dentist flew over to London,caught a train then a bus
Spoke
to doctor face to face(who still refused an MRI)
Daughter
discharged after dentist paid six hundred pounds (cash)
(As
National Health demanded bills for foreigners be paid in cash.
Dentist
then spent time in London Paris and Belgium before flight home-
loving
London buses (Paris -not so much)-and making the most
of
his daughter's medical emergency.All these stories before the injection
made
me more numb to listening.ALWAYS agree with dentists.
I
have seen MARATHON MAN and Reuben,Reuben..
