MY POSTBAG: Reptile smuggling with Michael Des Barres

The headline is technically correct although somewhat misleading...

Once again we have a stupid picture of me with the contents of today's postbag.

At last, I finally have a copy of Michael Des Barres' exquisite album Carnaby Street clutched in my sticky little hands. I cannot wait to hear it on my proper hi-fi rather than the MP3s on my computer speakers (and they are pretty damn good).

But what is this with it? A biography of Jim Morrison? Nope, its a book about a notorious reptile smuggler, which has absolutely nothing to do with other Gonzo Daily stuff apart from the fact that it is an amusing title....

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
