THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

ACCOUNTABILITY

DRONE WARFARE PERFORMED OVER DIGITAL DISTANCES

No survivors=no witnesses.Did the drone do it?or its driver?

Same with autonomous vehicles.Once no human sits as safeguard

will the program be held accountable?Or the programmer?

For computer failure-in an autonomous vehicle/drone/factory-

where does responsibility lay?For hackers  are persecuted but CIA/FBI/NSA not.

Wikileaks shares truth bombs,but Freedom of Information Act is gutted

We are past the post-modern equivalence of human and machine.

Robots can now fulfill most of our human work.Do we rest with a guaranteed income?

or will we "make jobs"to make up for the dislocation of our work force?

Robots write poetry,too.Some better than human authors.

So when do we hand the keys over to our A I Masters?

and admit that the Renaissance has been outsourced?
