MICHAEL DES BARRES: Music & Mayhem radio interview

As regular readers here to the Gonzo blog will be aware, I am very fond of Michael Des Barres, and his music. He is a remarkable man who has achieved remarkable things oiver the years, and his new album 'Carnaby Street' looks like it is going to be a complate bloody smash! I am a shameless journalist (I did write for The News of the Screws once or twice, and have no compunctions in nicking stuff off people's Facebook pages. Michael posted this yesterday. It is fantastic, and is obviously part of the 'Carnaby Street' publicity machine, but I'm not quite sure what yet. When I find out, I will let you know.

In the meantime, here is anorther Michael D-B story you mught have missed (and yes, I pinched it from his website)...

Michael was recently interviewed on the radio show Music & Mayhem, hosted by Taylor Van Arsdale.

During the one-hour interview, several songs from the upcoming Carnaby Street album were played on radio for the first time.

“It’s so fun for me to listen to it for the first time on the radio. You know, I’m so lucky to be able to make a record today. I have a great label and people are being so kind and generous”, Michael said.

He also did an acoustic version of “Obsession”, live in the studio.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
