Michael Des Barres on the Andy Dick show

To mark the release of Carnaby Street, Michael and the band played five songs live on Andy Dick’s internet show yesterday.

Michael first had a conversation with host Alki David, who was sitting in for Andy Dick. At one point Michael did an impromptu performance of Chuck Berry’s “Roll Over Beethoven”, a song he used to play live with Silverhead back in the 70s. Andy Dick himself was also eventually able to join them live on the phone.

After a short break The MDB Band gave a rocking live performance, starting with “Little Latin Lover” and followed by “Carnaby Street”, “You’re My Pain Killer”, “My Baby Saved My Ass” and “Route 69″.

The show’s other guest, actress Gloria Huwiler, got up and danced with the band for the last song.

If you didn’t catch the show live, it will be repeated again at filmon.com.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
