ADAM `MCA` YAUCH 1964-2012

For a few years at the end of the 1980s The Beastie Boys were an essential part of the soundtrack to my life. Then, a few years ago, we got a telephone call from their management. Apparently they had been following one of the blogs that we run about one of our expeditions. Would we contribute to a MTV show about them.

Well duh! Of course we did.

I was going to post one of the YouTube videos that came out last night discussing MCA's influence on modern culture, but they were all so po-faced and horrible that I couldn't face it. There is only possibly one thing that can be posted as a tribute to the man:

And if you didn't snigger, or at least smile at least once during that, there is something wrong with you.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
