Win tickets to the Jubilee Bash at the Black Horse Beamish
By Jayne Walsh

The Black Horse in Beamish is throwing a Jubilee Bash on Bank Holiday Monday, June 4, when visitors can enjoy live music from local bands in the pub’s front paddock. Culture club members are being offered the chance to win two tickets to the event, worth £15 each.

Renowned local group Martin Stephenson and the Daintees will be headlining the festival following the release of their album ‘California Star’ and their successful national tour in April 2012, which included a sold out performance at The Sage Gateshead.

Singer and songwriter Martin Stephenson’s career stretches back over 30 years, and his eclectic range of musical styles include Zappa & Beefheart, through Rockabilly, old time string music to straight ahead rock 'n' roll.

Other local artists performing at the event are Rosie and the Hips, Shipcote and Friends and Fickle Lilly. Hot food and refreshments will be available throughout the day, and visitors can explore the pub’s ten acres of vegetable gardens and orchards. Doors open at 1pm, and the headline act will take to the stage at 7pm.
Tickets are £15 for adults and a restricted number of free tickets are available for under 12s (who must be accompanied by an adult). Live music will continue in the bar until late. Tickets are available from the Black Horse bar, or online at Ticketweb.co.uk.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
