My tastes are odd. On one silde I like the poetic, the sophisticated, the symphonic - that'swhy I like Yes so much. On the other side, I think Rock and Roll hit its peak when Elvis broke three strings on his guitar whilst singing 'Jailhouse Rock' on live TV. Rock music at its best is when it is most basic. The other day I was talking to Michael Des Barres who was singing the praises of Sex Pistold guitarist Steve Jones.
Then I found this.
Its got three chords. It is mindless. It is glorious. Its not quite 'Louie Louie' but its the next best thing. Michael Des Barres sings 'Wild Thing':
It is sublime. All I would say to Michael (and I do know that you read this blog). Please, dear friend. Do me a cover of 'Louie Louie'. I will die happy :)

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?
Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
