Troy Donockley is perhaps best known as a long-time member of Iona, a band which he left in 2009. He has also guested on albums by Nightwish, Clannad, Midge Ure and Status Quo, among others. His latest work, Messages, is a compilation of his three solo studio albums, with a couple of new pieces, where we see him tackle a traditional song on For Him who will Never Return and he also composed a new piece (Dunmail Rising) especially for this occasion. The only composition not written by him is a cover of Sibelius' Finlandia.

What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?
Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
